WELCOME TO
Breath of Life Dental (BOLD) is dedicated to restoring and preserving airway health in adults and children alike.
We accomplish our mission with
airway dentistry, an advanced branch of dentistry focused on the patient’s oral structure and its effects on breathing.
Through the use of sophisticated diagnostics and treatment, orthodontic care and custom oral appliances,
we restore your–or your child’s–ability to breathe without obstruction for a healthier, happier life.
Airway health extends beyond the lungs to the upper airway, including the mouth and throat. Related structural issues, such as undeveloped jaws, can obstruct the airway, causing oxygen- and sleep-deprivation. When the obstructions are detected and cleared, health and vitality can be restored.
Children can suffer from upper airway obstructions due to structural issues in the mouth and jaw. Such obstructions, impeding airflow, create significant difficulties for the child, including sleep deprivation, learning disabilities, erratic behavior and more. Identifying and treating the obstructions is the only lasting solution.
The traditional “solution” to misaligned teeth has long been to extract teeth to make room for the remainder to be straightened. The optimal solution, however, is to encourage bone growth in the jaws, palate, and face so teeth have the room they need. The Vivos appliance does just that—it spurs bone growth, even in fully matured adults, and has the additional benefit of helping teeth take on an aligned appearance. At Breath of Life Dental (BOLD), we focus on improving the shape and health of the jaw in our approach to adult orthodontics. However, there are many options available.
Sleep apnea is a potentially dangerous sleep disorder in which a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep. This can occur dozens of times a night, shattering a person’s restful sleep and depriving them of oxygen.
TMJ stands for “temporomandibular joint” the joint on either side of your head which connects the jaw to the temple. When the TMJ becomes dysfunctional, it can cause headaches along with pain in the jaw, ears, face and mouth. Your jaw may also make clicking or popping noises and could lock in an open or closed position. Fortunately, TMJ is treatable once the correct cause is accurately identified.
TMJ issues arise when the joint is subject to excess strain. Such strain may come from chronic teeth-grinding or -clenching, structural issues such as underdeveloped jaws, facial trauma and even arthritis. Accurately diagnosing the cause of TMJ requires a skilled dentist who has been trained in this area.
We do what’s best for patients, clinically and professionally. We treat patients as individuals, warmly and sincerely. And we educate patients so they act as partners in their care.
We go beyond symptoms to find the underlying cause of your issues and create the optimal treatment plan for your long-term health.
We want our patients to experience excellent oral and airway health today, tomorrow and for the rest of
their lives.
